01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Specializing in Nordic tea blends, Kanda Dessert occupies a snug spot under the JR railway tracks near Kanda Station, centered around an intimate counter of just 4 seats. Within this cozy space, the shopkeeper gladly guides guests through the unique characteristics and aromatic appeal of each blend.

A Signature Blend Framed by Sweet Floral Aromas and Rose Jam

First-time visitors will want to begin with the flagship Söderblandning. Built on a Ceylon black tea base and combined with marigold, cornflower, and orange peel, the blend releases rich floral and fruity fragrances. The customary way to enjoy it here is to take a small spoonful of Bulgarian rose jam into your mouth before sipping the hot tea, creating a lovely interplay between the rose scent and the tea leaves. Served by the pot, the tea can be savored across multiple cups as hot water is replenished.

Comforting Chai, Diverse Leaves, and Light Bites

Alongside straight teas, chai prepared with spiced tea leaves is another sought-after choice. Balanced with gentle, restrained spices and smooth sweetness, it offers a soothing, mellow cup. The shop also serves light fare such as hot dogs, toasted sandwiches, and financiers baked with tea leaves, making it easy to enjoy a bite during tea time.

Taking Your Favorite Flavors Home

An adjoining retail counter lets guests purchase the blends they enjoyed in mini tins, canisters, or refill packs. From the distinct smoky character of Sir John Blend to the citrus-forward Earl Grey Special, browsing the varied collection for home use or gifts adds another pleasant dimension to the visit.
